Ann Ferris (centre) Chair of League of Friends of Helston Community Hospital with Garry Tremayne, his mum Sue Tremayne, Garry's wife Lisa and Darren Turner Chairman of Mullion Cricket Club.
Garry is the brother of David Tremayne of Mullion who sadly died of lung cancer 4 years ago at Helston Community Hospital.
Garry, felt that David and the family were so well supported by the nurses and staff at Helston Community Hospital that they wanted to raise money for the hospital. The family did this by organising "David's Day" at Mullion cricket club on August bank holiday Sunday. Raising money by having a raffle and cricket match with prizes kindly being donated by local people and businesses which included a Spa day and Cream tea from Mullion Cove Hotel.

The fantastic amount of £2216.37 has been raised for the hospital.

David's Day raised £1660.68 and an ongoing raffle, divided between LOF and Mullion Cricket club throughout the season raised £535.69 with an additional donation of £20.

Garry, Darren Turner and other members are planning to make David's day an annual event to be held each year on August bank holiday Sunday.
